Well, Summer is over! Drat. We had a good summer and we got to go to the beach a lot. So that is saying something. We also toured some farms. We visited a dairy farm and a horse ranch and some other stuff. Sheri bought me a new guitar and it's quite nice. Next year I want to do some more ghosttown hunting. We visited a few spots in our area: Power Glen, Balls Falls, Effingham and Port Robinson. Now mind you, these places still exist as hamlets, except for Balls Falls, it's now park. Oh and Power Glen has been surrounded by a new subdivision, so it's status as a hamlet is now moot. I would like to do more hunting of these old places, these forgotten places. Take the kids and photograph old barns and deserted places, like the old canal's Lock buildings. But, on the other hand, we did see a lot of nice places this summer. And we rediscovered Long Beach Conservation Area; a place we are definitely going to camp at next summer. Funnily enough, I was bugging Sheri to update her blog, and then I realized that I hadn't updated mine, so I am posting this. My Linux Desktop is running nicely. My car, however is toast. The ball joints need replacement, the radiator still needs replacement. It is a mess. I got so fed up, I bought Sheri and I bikes with the money we had earmarked for the repairs. It surprised the heck out of Sheri, that's for sure. But as much as I love my little car, you have to get to a point where you draw the line. I don't think we'll be able to afford to keep it on the road for another year anyway.. so bye bye sweet car........ I'm gonna miss you.
